Let Me Explain

Hiiii! How's your weekend *perky tone high af. Isn't that how blogs should sound like?* As promised, more talking. (yey) Let me tell you a story why the kaartehan in the blog address, blog name and/or the choice of header title.

 lookingformeryl.blogspot.com

I chose this address for a particular reason: my love for books. (Which is one of the things I'm excited to blog about!) One of my favorite of all time is Looking for Alaska by John Green. (I guess that explains it. Should I stop typing now?) Other books who made it on my Top 5 are Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho, but I don't think meryldecidestodie.blogspot.com sounds pleasant, does it lol and Norweigian Wood by Haruki Murakami; two of which I'm not going to talk deep about now but I will do soon, I promise.

If I'm not mistaken this is the first book I read as an "adult" (ewwww) or maybe as someone with a proper mind to understand depth of things :p This book captured me, specifically the main character, Alaska Young. As described, which I totally agree to, she is "The wild, unpredictable, beautiful, and enigmatic girl who captures Miles' attention and heart. She acts as a confidante to her friends, frequently assisting them in personal matters, including providing them with cigarettes and alcohol." Rings a bell? Yep, hi friends. So Meryl-ish lalo na the beautiful part. Chos. Reading the book especially Alaska's POV does not feel like reading at all. It was like me, pondering on my own thoughts. It was my POV. Anyway, that's about it for now and as promised above (Read!) I will tell more about these books in a separate post.

Il était une fois | Tales of a Sweetheart No More

Why so arte?!!!! I know, I know! Il était une fois means Once Upon a Time in french. Who isn't in love with the french language, silly. Well, if you aren't screw you but I am. Which is somehow related to Tales of a Sweetheart No More. Ponder no more, let me explain further:

Duh, imagine me telling you a story, a tale. (which equals to all the contents of this page) In a perfect world of Disney Princesses, every story should start with Once upon a time and magical BG music, shouldn't it? (But Meryl, we aren't in Disney World....) I know, it's not how I start all my stories on an everyday basis - I usually start it with "Te. May kwento ako." and "Beks. May chika ako." or something to that effect, but I tend to transition it just a little bit to more prim and proper (See, I still try) so I thought once upon a time will do the trick. Same idea naman, wag ka nga. Makes sense? Of course.. not.

Tales of a Sweetheart No More is very literal. I am no sweetheart, at least not anymore. Should I expound? How shallow. If you personally know me, you probably have an idea why and what makes me no sweetheart. If you don't know me at all, don't worry, you'll have an idea as soon as I fill this blog with bits of me.

Or how about you read Looking for Alaska and figure out yourself? I dare you. ;)
