Mindoro Eskapo: Puerto Galera

Long Live Summer Nights. ♥

I know, this trip is almost a year old but I thought I'd love to still do posts about all my previous trips just so they are compiled. The timeline of the travels that I will be posting will be crazy so please just bear with me.

April 2015, in celebration of my birthday and ze anniversary ♥ We pushed through with this not-so-planned trip to Puerto Galera.  It's Tine's first time! and it was my third, but it's our first out of town trip together. I, personally will never ever get tired of going back to Galera for many reasons.

In every beach trip we go to, it is vital that the beach itself is pristine. (Duh, of course.) From the waters down to what's below it. We have to admit, there are beaches that are too "mabato", too "madahon" or too "malalim kaagad". Does that make sense? (Pinagsasasabi 'ko.) Though it's tolerable, I myself is very specific when it comes to these. But you see, Puerto Galera isn't one of those. For someone like me who doesn't know how to swim (There I said it!) but is totes in love with beaches and believes she is a mermaid, (flip ng hair) it is important that I could wander in the shore and enjoy without those above-mentioned hindrances to do so. Lels. Arte arte 'di naman marunong lumangoy.

Okay, so on to the trip. Forgive me for I do not remember the exact timelines of the details I'm 'bout to discuss. I have very, very poor memory, gaaahd if I've known that I'll be blogging I should have brought a pen with me.

We left Manila 04/12/2015, Sunday and took a bus in Buendia (Jam Bus Line) byaheng Batangas Pier, (180 pesos/each) There are other bus lines who cater this route, we chose Jam in Buendia because it's the nearest. Please note to look for those with "Derecho/CALABARZON" signage for obvious reasons. Direcho lang 'to. Walang stop over, walang ikot-ikot. Straight. Hindi paminta. Kcorny. The trip took around an hour or so if I'm not mistaken. Good thing we already contacted an Inn prior to the trip and made reservations so I was not that stressed about that part anymore especially knowing it's peak season and it will be a little hard to find an accommodation that is near the beach. (Though there are a lot and it is impossible for you to not find any if you go there ad hoc. I just want everything set once we're there.)

We reached Batangas Pier around noon and bought our tickets for the boat transfer to White Beach. Round trip tix cost around 500 pesos/each and I suggest you buy such just so everything is set pati pag-uwi. But you could also buy one way tickets if you are not yet sure on how long you'll be staying.

@ Batangas Pier. We waited for almost an hour for the next boat trip.
Annoying, as usual.

There are other beaches in Galera aside from White Beach - Sabang is one which is good for diving, (Kaya 'di pa ako nakakapunta 'dyan lels.) and other private ones. White Beach is the most famous I'd say. That's where the party is. ;)

Upon arriving at White Beach, we proceed to Bangera Inn. It's a mini hotel recommended by a friend, located quite near the end shore of White Beach (Landmark: Dream Wave Hotel) I highly recommend this place because 1. The owner is very accomodating not just through sms when we were booking but all throughout our 3D 2N stay. 2. We had our room for just 1,300/night. (I'd say very cheap for peak season rate. Most rooms are at 2k above.) 3.  Totes comfy. I mean as long as you can sleep soundly and you're safe, right? Own bathroom, closet, TV, aircon. Sweet. You may find the contact number at the end of my post. :)

We had a room with two double size bed. Sabi ko kay Tine
tig-isa kami, magagalit mama ko e. Lelz.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in the room because it was scorching hot outside and we were malagkit from biyahe but first, eat.

As mentioned above, forgive me for I do not remember specific deets of the trip esp. the restaus where we ate but not to worry, you do not need any guide if you are looking for where to eat in Puerto because food is everywhere 24/7. I'd say you prepare 100/person/meal and rest assured, happy tummy. I've heard a lot of other good food havens outside the shores of White Beach and I'd love to try those in the future. But anyway, here's some of the foodams we indulged to that I was able to capture because #feelingfoodie :p

Pang-dayo 'to promise.
Beach front <3
We had this meal for two somewhere just outside our Inn
(Oh my poor memory) for a very affordable price.
Bacon, tuyo and boyfriend. <3
BACOOOOOOON!♥

I could say we were able to enjoy the beach as it wasn't too crowded given we are at almost dulong part. I was too giddy to get in the waters! I missedddddddddddddd.

Syempre selfies muna.

"Di pa tayo mag-swimming?"
"Di tayo marunong lumangoy parehas, b3h."
"Oo nga pala. Ha ha ha. K, picture pa more."
Yes, Tine ano 'yon?
"Lamig, bae."
Ang sarap ng tubig. (Natikman 'ko?)
San ako nakatingin. May nakita siguro akong dumaang bhe (pogi) nito.

We didn't have much pictures in the waters because duh sino mag-pipicture :( But let me assure you, we did not go further than the shallow parts of it. Lol.

Night life at Puerto during peak season is really superb. The shore line is alive with music, people in groups, couples, families. And even if it's just the two of us, we had fun with just booze and smoke in hands, nonsense convos and each other. :) Nuxxx.

Night # 1. We just sat in the sands (mas masaya) a little near
the clubs for free sound trip. :p Nag-brown out pa bigla. lol
Night 2: This time far from the party. Grabe ka-chill ang
gabing 'to.
Cheers, partnah. <3

The morning before our scheduled boat trip back to Batangas, we took a walk after breakfast and enjoyed the beautiful morning view. There's nothing more relaxing in this world than the thought of the beach just few steps away from you upon waking up. ♥

Two of my favorite views in the world :)

04/14/15, Tuesday in the afternoon, we traveled back to Manila and probably was home around 6 PM with hearts full of lovely new memories. (Gusto mo 'yon?! Arte arte.) There is so much more to Puerto Galera than all of what I just told you. If you ever are planning to visit, explore more of what it has to offer. I am not sure when will I be back, definitely not this year, for I have other trips planned and of course, there are other beauties the Philippines wants to show me, which I am obliged to see, BUT I sure will do.

That's about it for the Puerto trip! Thanks for reading and dropping by! I am so excited to share more of my Dora modes, soon! Tata for now!

x M

As promised, here's the contact number of Bangera Inn:

Please note that all rates (bus, boat transfers, room rates) mentioned above might change in time because as we know, change is the only thing inevitable in this world. Embrace change. For you to grow. Change is good. Go. K. Whatever. Bye.
