Wandering Mag-Jowa - Boracay

So ayun na nga. I didn't see this trip coming. From all the work load Q1 and Q2 threw upon me, long vacation has become a luxury. That's why when I was told I could be OOO for 5 days straight, I felt nothing but relief. FINALLY. The long overdue vacation is happening. Good thing it's summer all year in PH so we good.

We initially planned for La Union but then I remembered the option to travel via Ferry to Boracay, which I wanted to experience since last year, so we gave this one a go instead. Given the days alloted for this trip, the 9-hour travel time would be feasible.

We left MNL Thu noon for the 9:00 PM trip from Batangas Pier to Caticlan. Ferry tickets were booked  a week before along with the plane ticket [My friend insisted we take a plane going back to MNL which became convenient because I have to be somewhere Sunday night] You may check the ferry's trip schedule and ticket/accommodation price here. We opted for the Tourist accommodation because we'll pretty much just sleep the whole night.

2Go Ferry's lobby. Nice, right?

Bunks. We'll def travel via this again. It's not as scary as we (Tine:p) think it is.

❤ SLEEP

We arrived in Caticlan at exactly 6:00 AM, paid another ferry ticket to Boracay along with Terminal Fee. Travel time is 20 minutes. We were in Cagban Port in no time where we hailed a tric going to our Hotel.

It was drizzling then and instead of being disappointed, I was a little giddy. It's two of my favorite things, rain and the beach! I would like to dance in the rain by the shore and be maarte.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told that the standard check in time is 12 PM. It was 6:30-ish AM then so kamusta naman 'diba. We agreed to take a walk around first, but the staffs are too nice and let us check in to another room right away. Shout out to Bamboo Beach Resort, woot woot. ;) We rested a bit, and then went out for lunch. [So the dance in the rain by the shore inarte didn't happen lol]

And that, my friends, is the start of non-stop gluttony.

Hello Bora, your hue is inviting.

❤ EAT

This is probably the main reason why I'd go back to Boracay. THE FOOD. OH MY GOSH, THE FOOD. They're everywhere. And everything's so good! I'm rating all the restaus we ate at with 4-5 stars, not to mention the bar drinks.

TIP: If you are on a tight budget, try going out the highway to find a place to eat at. A huge chunk of our budget went to food because we solely ate at the restaus along the beach. Now we know. Maybe next time :p But no regrets! I know this ain't just me but if there are words I live by when it comes to food, it's: "'Wag tipirin ang sarili pagdating sa pagkain." It might be a little pricey, but trust me they're worth every peso.

Cha-Cha's, Station 2

POKETO, Station X, Station 2
Fat Rice, Station X, Station 2
I might have found the BEST TAPA on earth! Maya's Filipino and Mexican Cuisine, Station 1

❤ BEACH

The following days, aside from taking a dip, we went island hopping and in Tine's case, paddle boarding. We weren't able to go parasailing as planned since time and pagod won't allow.

We did enjoy every single moment we had by the beach. Boracay water is exquisite.

'Kala mo marunong lumangoy.

REPEAT

Will I go back?

Boracay is not on the list of my looking-forward-to places. [SIARGAO!!!] Friends have been taunting me to go here for ages and I just say yeah maybe, but I see it as something not to plan about, hence this impulsive booking. I thought it was overrated.  I loathe crowded places/beaches so much. I don't get people going here during summer knowing it will be congested and byahe pa lang, stress na. I mean the point of going out of town is to relax, right? Or maybe it's just me.  I am more into isolated, no phone signal type of beaches, that's why. But this experience somewhat changed that.

To answer the question, Yes, yes, I definitely will. BUT STILL NOT DURING SUMMER ESPECIALLY LABORACAY DAYS [Good Lordy, no] prolly same time this year will do. Boracay's energy is something you cannot find elsewhere. It has this very home-y vibe that would make you want to live there. Also, remember my term "Ligo-able"? LOL It's one of my standards when it comes to beaches. Boracay waters is very ligo-able. It's not even that salty [I dunno if I'm making sense] and I can assure you'll enjoy it as much as we did.

I insisted we smoke shisha every night we were out drinking due to the no smoking ordinance strictly implemented, which is actually NICE naman!  [Tine doesn't smoke it's just me really with the need :p]

And the dogs! I say hi to all of 'em I bump into! :)

No wonder tourists go gaga over Boracay. [Guys, not being OA but 70% of the population when we were there are Koreans. OPPA ALERT. It felt like we were the tourist ones.] I hope we continue restoring and taking care of such places because nakaka-proud. I felt sepanx upon return to Manila and I cannot wait to go back. [Muntik na 'kong mag-apply sa Starbucks Boracay, chos.]

So yeah, that's about it for the Bora trip. Please be with me when I pray that werqload will be kind to me so I could go on more vacays like this. *prays to the old and new Gods*

Isama niyo na din sa prayers niyo na sana kame pa non. Charot. Love love 5ever.

Here are snippets Jowa collated into one pabebe video: [Yes he made this, he took these vids all through out the trip, naks naman.]

'Til the next adventure!
