And just like that, my serum addiction has worsen, if not gotten better. I have raved about my love for The Ordinary serums here. Since then, my collection grew further.
Presenting, my latest hoard - It's Skin Power 10 Effector Serums *throws confetti*
QUICK INFO
PRICE: Depends on where you buy [online shops such as Shopee, Beauty MNL and others, re-sellers or direct suppliers], the price ranges from 400php-600php. Pretty cheap I'd say, hence the rave of skin care enthusiasts.PACKAGING: Just like other serums, it comes with a glass dropper but with the ends a little tilted, which I deem is for when the product is on its end already [easier and simot dispensing] I find it too big though, so I make sure I get just enough to spread on my whole face.
HOW TO USE: I normally dispense product as much as half of the dropper and evenly distribute it on my face [forehead, LR cheeks, chin, nose, and neck] Afterwards, I rub or tap it in circular - upward motion with my fingers. You may use multiple of these products but make sure your skin absorbs each first [dried out] before applying another.
Each bottle and variant is boosted with its own special ingredient for specific skin problem. This line my also be used as an essence which makes it very convenient, too! So far, I have tried 6/13 but only stashed 4, all of which I currently use:
Vitamin C Effector with Vit C Derivatives (#1 Best Selling)
WHAT IT DOES: Any vitamin C serum's main function is to Brighten, perfect for fading acne scars which I am after. I've been keen to start trying Vitamin C products and I have read somewhere that this particular item is the best place to start with to have your skin acquainted. It specifically has Vitamin C derivative Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, [whatever the f is this] which based on my research is a gentle derivative that won't cause peeling or irritation therefore will fit with sensitive skin.
SCENT AND TEXTURE: It smells citrus-y and has a thick consistency.
RESULTS: My skin doesn't react to this product badly to my surprise [I was expecting to purge] I did not notice any dramatic effect at first however when I finished half of it, I observed how some of my small scars have lightened. But then again, nothing dramatic. *shrugs*
REPURCHASE? I will, for I believe with continuous use, this will give me the spot-brightening effect I'm after. But I am open and would love to try other Vitamin C products after this bottle. For its cheap pricing, I wouldn't think twice to go back eventually, though. :)
I use this every morning along with another variant, followed by moisturizer and sunscreen. ALWAYS USE sunscreen if you are using brightening products, people. ALWAYS.
CO Effector with Phyto Collagen (#2 Best Selling)
WHAT IT DOES: Made for skin Hydration and Elasticity. It claims to reverse the sign of aging with its key ingredient Phyto Collagen. At the same time improves skin hydration resulting to more vibrant skin.
RESULTS: I am not sure about the anti-ageing part as I'm not very particular about it yet, but I commend this product for giving me a dewier look the morning after I use it. It really does hydrate the skin very well and does not cause me to break out, too.
REPURCHASE? Not after this bottle. I believe there are other products that could give me the same moisturizing effect it does.
This product works well after I use The Ordinary's AHA/BHA Peeling Solution. I do not use it along with Vitamin C as I hear they have the tendecy to negate each other.
PO Effector with Houttuynia Cordata Extract
WHAT IT DOES: It is a pore targeting product that shrinks it while reducing excess sebum. It contains Houttuynia Cordata Extracts which is a medicinal herb famous around Asia, that is known skin care wise, to have strong anti-microbial effect against the bacteria most commonly associated with acne. [THANK YOU, GOOGLE!!!]
RESULTS: Sebum wise, you will really notice the decrease in oil the morning after use [probably for someone like me who is like factory ng langis ang face, it is very noticeable].
REPURCHASE? Same with CO, not after this bottle. I find the product too sticky which I'm not a fan of.
I use this along with CO Effector every exfoliating day. Newly exfoliated skin sinks products deeper into skin, which what I'd want those two to do.
LI Effector with Licorice
WHAT IT DOES: Licorice extract is known to lighten skin discolorations [dark spots, freckles etc.] This product also claims to relieve effects of sun exposure.
RESULTS: Tbh, I wasn't expecting too much but I was surprised with how effective it is. I have areas that are red due to pimples and it lightens them pretty well.
REPURCHASE? I will, simple as that. Impressive. *nods*
I am currently using this along with Vitamin C in the morning. I am that eager to get rid of these dark spots, so ravan talaga sa brightening x lightening. Works well, so far. I'm stunned.
Overall, you get your money's worth with these products. NOT BAD.
Do not expect any dramatic effect but I could safely say you will notice desirable results just in time [BE PATIENT!] Some may find this a little meh but I mean, it wouldn't hurt adding some of these in your routine if your skin tolerates it, especially since they are relatively cheap.
I like that it doesn't irritate my very irritable skin lol. As mentioned before, I tend to break out easily but with these, that did not happen. Huzzah. But! just like everytime you use a new line or product, I recommend patch testing first - put some at the back of your ear for.. say 4 days and watch out for any undesirable effect. If there's none, then you're good for continuous use.
Anyhoo, enough talking. To conclude this post, here's a quick view of the whole line for your reference. Pick your poison ;)
'Til the next [COSRX Review. *giddy giddy] blog!
